Now, a Toilet locator App for Mumbai to find a public restroom for those in need

Now people no more have to pee on footpaths in Mumbai as the toilet locator app will be on the tip of their fingers. Under the Clean India initiative, the government joined hands with google to create a toilet locator app for each city. Mumbai has its own toilet locator app now for android users which was introduced by BMC on Monday.

This app opens on Android phones and can be downloaded from Google Play. Over 800 pay and use toilets have been connected on Mumbai’s Toilet Locator through GPS and more locations would be added in near future, said a senior official from the department of Solid Waste Management.

The app shows public toilets near your location, alongside the exact address and opening hours. The feature is available in both English and Hindi. Each public toilet listing when opened also features a star rating, helping determine whether the toilet is well reviewed by previous visitors.
