Girls Liberated From Mumbai’s Brothels To Walk The Ramp At Lakme Fashion Week(LFW)
Lakmé Fashion Week has collaborated with Kranti an NGO that empowers girls from Mumbai’s red-light areas to be agents of social change on 2nd February 2017 at LFW.
The campaign is driven by the idea to empower girls and celebrate who they are. Most of these girls are born and brought up in and around brothels, yet they remained uneducated about ‘good touch’ and ‘bad touch’, subsequently getting raped at a tender age.
The event will have them speak from their heart and share their personal stories through an interactive performance with the audience.
These girls will wear a range from by Mandeep Nagi, the design director of the brand Shades of India and the collection will be modelled by them on day two of the gala which begins on February 1.
